It’s time to talk about teamwork. My group has been working with MIT’s App Inventor to create a mobile game. Although the group was assigned about a week earlier than when I joined it, I was able to help in a small portion of features being added to it. My group decided to create a boxing game, “Fight Night”. In this game whenever you press the boxing glove in front of you, it will punch at your opponent. The opponent is moving side to side, first slowly and then increasing its speed with every few hits. If you swing at the opponent and miss then the glove will go straight through, but if you hit the opponent then your glove will come back right away.
My portion of this project was to add the labels for the Hits and Rounds at the top of the screen. As well as make them synchronized with the Hits/Rounds that are associated with every punch so that the user can see how they’re doing throughout the game. I think our team has worked very well with each other and have produced a fairly good game with what our limitations were in App Inventor. Below I have included screenshots of our “Fight Night” application.
